About the Surface collection
The Surface collection is inspired by Sergio Herman's homeland, Zeeland – a series of small islands in a constant struggle with the ocean, with a landscape etched by tides and storm surges. The materials, colours, and glazing techniques interpret the raw nature and unique topography of the region, from rugged coastlines to pale sand dunes, lush green meadows, and dark, calm lakes. "The rough textures and beautiful imperfections of the landscape show what is real and true. From the deep grey of the mystical North Sea to a weathered and aging skin, each surface is a symbol of depth. Each surface tells a story," explains Sergio Herman.
