About the Surface collection
The Surface collection is inspired by Sergio Herman's homeland of Zeeland – a series of small islands in a constant struggle with the ocean, with a landscape etched by tides and storm surges. The materials, colours, and glazing techniques interpret the rugged nature and unique topography of the region, from jagged coastlines to pale sand dunes, rich green meadows, and dark tranquil lakes. "The raw textures and beautiful imperfections of the landscape show what is real and true. From the deep grey of the mystical North Sea to a scarred and ageing skin, every surface is a symbol of depth. Every surface tells a story," explains Sergio Herman.
